In Like a Lion, Out Like A Lamb

March has been kind of a crazy month for me this year.   I got a new job at American Greetings as a full-time illustrator.  I also moved out of my furnished apartment on the west side of a Cleveland to an unfurnished apartment on the east side.  So, this month has been an ongoing quest to find furniture in Cleveland (it's true what they say in 30 Rock, Cleveland does not have an IKEA!) as well as settling into my new job.  

I'm going to try and be better about posting regularly... 

And, here is a piece I did for Ladybug magazine...  Can you spot the differences?  :)

The Ocean's Invisible Crowd

I just finished up a very fun assignment for Muse magazine.  The article describes the different  microscopic organisms that inhabit our oceans.  I was asked to illustrate a bunch of cartoonish organisms floating around the photos and bodies of text.  Here are the little characters placed so there is space for the article and photos.

It's been a while....

I wanted to play around with the same design in two different mediums, so I used the Simon & Garfunkel song, At the Zoo, as inspiration :).  The top is digital and the bottom is a mix of collage and gouache.
